We are looking for talents to help us lead Coupang’s expansion in Taiwan. This is an exceptional opportunity to become a part of Coupang’s growth in Taiwan and create a world where our customers wonder, “How did I ever live without Coupang?”   Position: Principal, Global Sourcing 資深跨境採購經理   What will you do? <ul> <li>Conduct market research to identify trending and in-demand products to capture the sales opportunity in the market.</li> <li>Source new suppliers overseas, ensuring product quality and cost-effectiveness.</li> <li>Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and supply reliability.</li> <li>Develop and execute buying strategies aligned with sales goals and inventory needs.</li> <li>Evaluate and refine product assortments based on customer trends and performance insights.</li> <li>Manage purchase orders, shipping arrangements, and import documentation for smooth operations.</li> </ul> Key Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Identify high‑potential global products through data-driven research, customer insights from the Coupang app, and Taiwan market trend analysis.</li> <li>Source and evaluate overseas suppliers across Asia, U.S., or Europe to enhance category competitiveness, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery reliability aligned with Rocket Overseas operations</li> <li>Lead end‑to‑end negotiation on pricing, payment terms, MOQs, lead time, and return policies to maximize margin and improve supply chain efficiency.</li> <li>Build and maintain long-term supplier partnerships, implementing performance scorecards to track OTIF (On Time In Full), defect rate, and responsiveness.</li> <li>Develop strategic buying plans aligned with sales forecasts, inventory health, seasonal demands, and customer WOW expectations.</li> <li>Curate category assortments that reflect Taiwan customer preferences and competitive landscape, continuously optimizing the product mix based on sales performance and conversion rates.</li> <li>Collaborate with logistics, customs, compliance, and finance teams to ensure import documentation accuracy and smooth cross-border operations.</li> <li>Monitor product lifecycle metrics such as sell-through rate, GMV contribution, and margin performance, adjusting sourcing strategies proactively.</li> <li>Maintain thorough records of sourcing activities and present periodic business updates, insights, and recommendations to management.</li> </ul> Essential Qualifications: <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in procurement, buying, or global sourcing, ideally within e-commerce, retail, or consumer goods environments.</li> <li>Proven track record in overseas supplier management and contract negotiation, with strong ability to secure cost‑effective and reliable supply.</li> <li>Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data interpretation for assortment planning and decision-making.</li> <li>Familiarity with import regulations, cross‑border compliance, and logistics processes.</li> <li>Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple categories and projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.</li> <li>Fluent in written and spoken Chinese and English; strong communication and stakeholder management skills.</li> </ul> Preferred Qualifications: <ul> <li>Experience working with Korean, Japanese, or Southeast Asian suppliers and consumer product trends.</li> <li>Proficiency in SQL or BI tools for advanced data analysis and performance tracking.</li> <li>Prior experience in an app‑first or rapid-delivery e-commerce model.</li> <li>Knowledge of supplier auditing, quality inspection processes, or product certification standards.</li> <li>Additional language abilities (e.g., Japanese, Korean).</li> <li>Strong business acumen with the ability to identify new sourcing opportunities and optimize profitability.</li> <li>Demonstrated ownership mindset and bias for action in ambiguous or rapidly evolving environments.</li> </ul>   Recruitment Process <ul> <li>Application Review - Phone Interview - Onsite (or Virtual Onsite) Interview – Offer</li> <li>The exact nature of the recruitment process may vary according to the specific job and may be changed due to scheduling or other circumstances.</li> <li>Interview schedules and the results will be informed to the applicant via the e-mail address submitted at the application stage.</li> </ul> Things to Consider <ul> <li>This job posting may be closed prior to the stated end date for application if all openings are filled.</li> <li>Coupang has the right to rescind an offer of employment if a candidate is found to have submitted false information as part of the application process.</li> <li>Coupang does not discriminate against disabled applicants or those with veteran status.
